Hugh Cha

Hugh Cha is Director of the Asia Division, as well as a Talent Manager and Producer for Bohemia Group, representing talents and producing projects across the United States and Asia.

Cha graduated with a Music Dance Theater degree at Brigham Young University, and studied Theater and English Literature in London. Cha received his M.F.A. in Musical Theater from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music, and was selected as one of the most influential men of the Boston Korean community. Born in Incheon, South Korea, he is a proud veteran of the Republic of Korea army.

Cha moved to New York in 2011 and started his entertainment career as a dancer and singer in musical theater. He's been in several off-Broadway and regional theater productions including The King and I and Jesus Christ Superstar. Cha then transitioned into TV and Film, appearing in primetime shows for HBO, NBC and FX Networks. As a film actor, he also received multiple awards in the U.S. He specializes in several forms of martial arts including Wushu, Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Boxing, Muay Thai, Jeet Kun Do, and has a black belt in Taekwondo and Iaido.

Hugh currently travels around the world, going wherever Bohemia Group needs him most. He is grateful to be doing what he loves, and hopes to tear down any cultural barriers along the way. His goal is to build a strong foundation for entertainment companies in the East and West.

휴 차는 보히미아의 그룹의 아시아 대표이며, 뉴욕과 할리우드에서 프로듀서, 탤런트 매니저, 배우, 가수로 활동중입니다.

한국에서 태어난 그는 13세의 나이로 어머니, 누나와 함께 미국 유학길에 올랐습니다. 휴 차는 대학교에 있을 당시 미국에서 프로 비보이, 현대 무용단, 세계 무용단 등 무용가로서 예술적 커리어를 쌓아가기 시작하였습니다. 브리감 영 대학에서 연극영화과, 무용과, 성악과 그리고 경제학을, 런던과 프랑스에서 영문학, 연극 영화과를 공부하였고, 뮤지컬 명문인 버클리 음대 보스톤 콘서바토리에서 동양인 최초 수석 장학생, 한국인 최초로 뮤지컬 최고 석사 학위인 M.F.A.를 수료하였습니다. 보스톤 유학중 대극장 뮤지컬 주연 데뷔와 더불어 활발한 봉사활동 등으로 보스톤 한인 신문지에서 선정한 2013년 보스톤을 빛낸 한인으로 선정되었습니다.

2011년 뉴욕으로 이사한 그는 소극장 뮤지컬 앙상블로 커리어를 시작해, 뮤지컬 가수로 ‘왕과 나’, ‘지저스 크라이스 슈퍼스타’ 등 오프브로드웨이와 대극장 주연/조연 활동을 하였습니다. 이후 매체연기자로 전향을 해 드라마 연기자로 HBO, NBC, FX 등 공중파 방송의 미국 드라마에 출연하였고, 영화 연기자로서 미국에서 다수의 영화제 수상을 하였습니다. 또한 뉴욕에서 스테이지 브릿지 제작사의 대표로서 드라마/영화/무대 제작자로 왕성한 활동을 하였습니다.

휴 차는 태권도와 다양한 검술의 유단자이며, 오랜 기간 쿵후, 소림사 쿵후, 복싱, 무에타이, 절권도 등 무술 수련을 한 무도가입니다.

현재 그는 보히미안의 이름에 걸맞게 보히미아 그룹이 자신을 필요로 하는 곳으로 자유로이 옮겨다닙니다. 자신이 하는일이 너무나 즐겁고, 엔터테인먼트 산업의 보이지 않는 동양과 서양의 벽이 허물어 지는데 조금이나마 도움이 될 수 있는 강한 기반을 쌓기를 깊이 소망합니다.
